49th Annual Cage Bird Show

On exhibit will be Budgies, Canary Varieties including American Singer, Color-bred / Red Factors, Frilled, Norwich, and other Old Variety Canaries, Spanish Timbrado Canaries, colorful Finches and Softbills and more! Hundreds of birds are expected to compete and several renowned bird judges will award ribbons and trophies. Song canaries will be judged on their singing abilities. Other birds will be judged on condition and conformation.

Division Manager Checklist

Division Managers | Exhibition Fees | Rules | ShowCages | Sponsors

Responsibilities of each Show Division Manager:

  1. Represent their division on the show committee. Attend meetings OR send a status report.
  2. Recommend judge(s) for their division.
  3. Be the liaison to any specialty societies for their division. Procure any specialty awards.
  4. Invite exhibitors for their division.
  5. Solicit money sponsorships to pay for the judge(s).
  6. Solicit catalog ads from their potential exhibitors and sponsors.
  7. Recruit staff for the show, eg. recording secretary and stewards, also show setup and cleanup, especially if separate area is used by division.
  8. Review the show catalog classifications and any special exhibitor rules for their division and send recommended changes to the show catalog editor.
  9. Take care of their division judge. Make sure the judge gets to the hotel, gets to the show on time, and gets to the banquet.
  10. Be responsible for judging stand(s) for their division. At a minimum, know where they are and how they are getting to and from the show. If someone else is getting them, confirm with them what you need and who will setup and tear down at the show, or recruit your own volunteer(s).
  11. Be the floor manager at the show for their division. Be present as much as possible during registration and judging.
  12. Make sure show results and winners are recorded on the provided secretary binder for your division.
  13. Turn the show results binder over to the show chair.
  14. Attend the Awards Banquet or appoint a delegate to announce the top division winners.
  15. Send show results to any specialty societies.
